Although our priority is always to save your natural teeth wherever possible, there are times when removing a tooth is the healthiest long-term option. Our experienced team provides gentle, comfortable tooth extractions with clear advice before, during and after your treatment.
A tooth may need to be removed because of severe decay, infection, advanced gum disease, a fractured tooth or overcrowding. Before recommending an extraction, we'll always discuss every suitable option to save the tooth where appropriate. If removal is the best solution, we'll make the procedure as comfortable as possible using modern techniques and effective local anaesthetic. The vast majority of tooth extractions we carry out are straightforward extractions, accounting for approximately 95% of cases. Occasionally, if a tooth is badly broken down, fractured beneath the gum or difficult to remove safely, a surgical extraction may be required instead. If this is the case, we'll explain everything clearly before treatment begins so there are no surprises.
We'll examine the tooth, discuss your symptoms and determine whether extraction is the most appropriate treatment.
We'll explain whether your tooth can be removed with a straightforward extraction or whether a surgical extraction is likely to provide the safest outcome.
Your tooth will be gently removed under local anaesthetic. If you're particularly anxious, IV conscious sedation may also be available for suitable patients aged 18 years and over.
We'll provide detailed aftercare instructions to help you heal quickly and minimise the risk of complications such as dry socket.
We hate hidden fees as much as you do. Every plan is written down in full — you'll never get a surprise invoice at reception.
Approximately 95% of the extractions we perform are routine tooth extractions (£150). If, after examining your tooth, we believe it's too badly broken down or difficult to remove safely, we'll discuss the need for a surgical extraction (£350) before treatment begins. You'll always know the fee before any treatment is carried out.
