If you’ve noticed your teeth have become a little yellow over the years, teeth whitening can provide the perfect antidote to revitalise your whole smile and your self-confidence.
We offer at-home whitening systems from 2 leading brands; Boutique Whitening and Smile White. These whitening systems are widely used by dentists across the UK and use safe levels of carbamide peroxide and custom-made whitening trays.
A foundation of healthy teeth and gums is needed prior to teeth whitening treatment. We can proceed once we have checked you don’t have signs of decay, gum disease or a dental infection.
Impressions of your teeth are taken to send off to either Boutique Whitening or Smile White. They will then send us your whitening tray, which will have been designed based on your impressions. It will therefore be an exact fit for your teeth.
You can then begin to whiten your teeth at home, which generally takes 10-14 days, depending on how much you are looking to alter your tooth shade. We will show you how to place the whitening gel into the grooves of your whitening trays, which are worn either by day or night.
Once your teeth begin to become discoloured again over time, you can simply purchase additional gel from our dental practice here in Blackwood, and repeat the initial process.
You should always look to a dental professional if you’re interested in whitening your smile. Under the care of a dentist, you can be sure your whitening trays will be made-to-measure for your smile and that the gels used contain safe levels of the chemicals responsible for breaking down the staining molecules that have discoloured your teeth.
We strongly recommend staying away from over-the-counter whitening strips and online kits, which do not use bespoke trays, nor is it guaranteed that they contain safe levels of peroxide.
Having your teeth whitened won’t directly affect the health of your teeth. However, it’s common for patients to take a greater interest in their oral hygiene routine once they have seen the amazing results of their treatment, as they do not wish to see the results fade.
